Simple solutions for complex genomic analysis
Generation Biotech develops tools and technology for complex genome analysis. We provide innovative reagents and protocols that run on standard laboratory instrumentation. Our technology simplifies the interpretation of complex genetic data in transplantation, disease association, evolution and drug development studies.
Region Specific Extraction
RSE extraction allows the targeted enrichment of specific genomic regions of interest, in particular for isolating large (>10kb) fragments of genomic or fosmid DNA. This technology has a unique advantage over other genome partitioning and region-specific amplification methods because large genomic linkages can reliably be determined across breakpoints, repeat regions or structural variants. This is valuable for de-novo next-generation sequence assembly and region-specific paired-end strategies.
Haplotype Specific Extraction
HSE extraction allows for the separation of diploid genomic DNA into its haploid fractions. HSE is automated, flexible, simple to use and resolves haplotypes over distances of up to 50 kilo-bases with a single probe.
Transposon Specific Extraction
TSE extraction allows for the identification of movable genetic repeat or retroviral elements that are a common occurrence in many genomes. Depending on their location or position of insertion they can play a role in genomic recombination events, chromosomal rearrangements and the cause or progression of certain diseases. TSE identifies the flanking region of each position of such elements in combination with standard assays such as DNA microarrays, sequencing or TaqMan analysis.
